What Is Power Flushing and Do I Need It?
A deep-clean for your heating system.
Power flushing forces a cleaning solution through your heating system at high flow to dislodge and remove the iron-oxide sludge and scale that build up over years. It restores circulation, eliminates cold spots, and protects pumps and heat exchangers.
It's especially worthwhile before fitting a new combi boiler to an older system.
Signs you may need a flush
- Radiators cold at the bottom
- Frequent cold spots or uneven heating
- Noisy boiler (kettling) or pump
- Discoloured water when bleeding radiators
- Installing a new boiler on an old system
Protecting your investment
A flush plus a magnetic filter keeps a new boiler's warranty valid and extends its life. We advise when a flush is genuinely needed rather than selling it by default.
This is not a DIY repair
Combi boilers are gas-fired appliances regulated under the BC Safety Standards Act. Opening the unit, touching the gas valve, or working on the flue without a valid BC gas-fitter licence is both unsafe and illegal. Diagnosing the fault is helpful — fixing it should always be left to a certified technician.
