Furnace Emergency: What to Do Right Now
A clear, calm checklist for furnace emergencies — no heat, strange smells, or a CO alarm.

If there's a smell or alarm
For a gas smell, evacuate and call FortisBC 1-800-663-9911. For a sounding CO alarm, get everyone outside to fresh air and call 911, then arrange furnace inspection before restarting.
