TSSA/BC Gas-Certified — Serving Vancouver Since 1999
Our Licensed Boiler Technicians
Every technician we employ holds current TSSA/BC gas certification, carries full liability insurance, and is registered with WorkSafeBC. We don't use subcontractors or unlicensed handymen — every person who enters your home is a directly employed, factory-trained gas fitter.
Our technicians undergo continuous training on new boiler models, combustion analysis, diagnostic procedures, and safety protocols. Many have been with us for 10+ years — they've installed and serviced thousands of boilers across Metro Vancouver.
Licensing & Certifications
Every boiler technician working on your home must — by law — hold these credentials. We verify and maintain all of them:
- TSSA/BC Gas Fitter Licence (Class B or A): Required for all gas appliance installation, repair, and service in BC. Issued by Technical Safety BC after examination and field experience.
- Certificate of Qualification (Gas Fitter): Interprovincial Red Seal or BC Certificate of Qualification. Verifies the technician has met the national standard for gas fitting competency.
- WorkSafeBC Registration: Every technician is covered by workers' compensation insurance. Protects you from liability if a technician is injured on your property.
- Manufacturer Factory Training: Navien, Viessmann, Bosch, Rinnai, and Lochinvar all have factory training programs. Our lead technicians complete these annually.
- Liability Insurance: $5 million commercial general liability coverage. Protects your property during our work.
- Combustion Analysis Certification: Technicians are trained and certified in the use of calibrated electronic combustion analyzers (Bacharach, Testo).
What Makes a Good Boiler Technician
When you hire a boiler technician, you're trusting them with the safety of your home and family. Here's what separates a professional from a handyman:
- Diagnosis before repair: A professional diagnoses the root cause and shows you the evidence before quoting. A handyman guesses and replaces parts until something works.
- Written quotes: A professional provides a fixed written quote before starting. A handyman gives a verbal estimate that often changes.
- Genuine parts: A professional uses OEM parts designed for your specific boiler model. A handyman may use generic parts that compromise safety and efficiency.
- Permits and inspections: A professional pulls gas and building permits and coordinates Technical Safety BC inspections. A handyman skips permits — which can void your home insurance.
- Warranty registration: A professional registers your boiler warranty with the manufacturer. Without proper registration, your warranty may not be valid.
- Clean work site: A professional leaves your mechanical room cleaner than they found it. A handyman leaves debris, tools, and unlabeled pipes.
Our Service Standards
Every job — from a $199 annual service to a $14,000 complete system replacement — follows the same professional standards:
- On-time arrival: We provide a 2-hour arrival window and call 30 minutes before arriving.
- Boot covers and drop cloths: We protect your floors and leave the work area spotless.
- Full diagnostic: Every visit includes combustion analysis, gas leak detection, and safety control testing — regardless of why we're there.
- Show and tell: We show you what we found, explain it in plain English, and answer every question before we start any work.
- Fixed pricing: The price we quote is the price you pay. No surprises, no upselling, no pressure.
This is not a DIY repair
Combi boilers are gas-fired appliances regulated under the BC Safety Standards Act. Opening the unit, touching the gas valve, or working on the flue without a valid BC gas-fitter licence is both unsafe and illegal. Diagnosing the fault is helpful — fixing it should always be left to a certified technician.
