Troubleshooting

Low Pressure After Bleeding Radiators

A normal side-effect of bleeding — usually an easy fix.

Licensed & Insured Gas-Certified Technicians Serving Vancouver Since 1999

Bleeding radiators releases trapped air, which lowers the system pressure — so seeing the gauge drop afterward is normal. Topping the system back up via the filling loop (per your manual) usually restores it.

If pressure keeps dropping after topping up, you may have a leak that needs investigation.

Safe steps

  • Check the gauge — aim for ~1–1.5 bar cold
  • Top up slowly via the filling loop per your manual
  • Re-bleed any remaining cold radiators
  • Re-check pressure once warm
  • If it keeps falling, book a leak investigation

This is not a DIY repair

Combi boilers are gas-fired appliances regulated under the BC Safety Standards Act. Opening the unit, touching the gas valve, or working on the flue without a valid BC gas-fitter licence is both unsafe and illegal. Diagnosing the fault is helpful — fixing it should always be left to a certified technician.
