Troubleshooting
Combi Boiler Display Is Blank or Dead
No lights, no display — start with power.
A completely blank combi boiler display usually points to a power problem — a tripped breaker, blown fuse, or a fault in the boiler's own power supply or control board. If other appliances on the circuit are also off, it's likely the breaker.
Checking the breaker is homeowner-safe; internal power and PCB faults need a technician.
What to check / common causes
- Tripped breaker or blown fuse (check your panel)
- Power switch near the boiler turned off
- Faulty internal fuse or power supply
- Control board (PCB) failure
- Loose wiring connection
This is not a DIY repair
Combi boilers are gas-fired appliances regulated under the BC Safety Standards Act. Opening the unit, touching the gas valve, or working on the flue without a valid BC gas-fitter licence is both unsafe and illegal. Diagnosing the fault is helpful — fixing it should always be left to a certified technician.
